Children’s Eyecare

Importance Of Children's Eyecare

From learning at school to playing sports, and everyday activities, good vision plays an important role in a child’s development. Regular eye examinations help ensure your child’s vision is developing as it should and allow any concerns to be picked up early.

Why Early Eye Care Matters

Children don’t always realise when their vision isn’t clear, as they often assume what they see is normal. This means without regular checks problems can go unnoticed.

Early eye examinations help detect issues such as problems focusing, difficulties with eye coordination, or the need for glasses. Identifying these early can make a real difference to your child’s learning, confidence and overall wellbeing, helping them see clearly in everyday activities at school, at home and at play.

Signs Of Possible Vision Problems

There are several signs that may indicate your child is having difficulty with their vision:

  • Squinting or tilting their head to see clearly

  • Sitting close to the TV or holding books close

  • Complaining of headaches or sore eyes

  • Rubbing their eyes frequently

  • Struggling to concentrate at school

  • Poor coordination or clumsiness

  • Avoiding reading or detailed tasks

If you notice any of these signs, it’s a good idea to book an eye examination.
