Advanced OCT Eye Examination
Our advanced eye examination includes the use of the hospital grade Heidelberg Spectralis 4D HD Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) imaging technology, using this we can identify and monitor the smallest change. An OCT scan is a quick, non-invasive imaging test that allows Dr. Janjua to see detailed cross-sections of the retina – the light sensitive layer at the back of your eye.
It’s an additional test you can add to your standard eye examination, giving us a deeper understanding of your eye health and helping detect potential issues early.
What Can an OCT Scan Detect?
OCT scans are particularly useful for identifying changes within the eye that may not be visible during a standard test. Conditions that can be detected include:

Using light waves, an OCT scan produces detailed images of the layers within the eye – like an ultrasound but using light instead of sound. The scan itself is quick, painless and safe. You simply focus each eye on a target while the machine captures the images. It does not involve contact with the eye and does not require any injections or sedation.
